Beer pong competition gets (almost) serious

Oregon State stuns Southern Cal in OT
Roeland Schaftenaar's 3-pointer sent the game into overtime, and Oregon State went on to beat Southern Cal 62-58 Sunday, snapping a 23-game Pacific-10 Conference losing streak that dated back to a 73-65 home win against Washington on Feb. 22, 2007.

UCLA stifles Duck rally for win
The 12th-ranked Bruins beat Oregon 83-74 Sunday. Darren Collison had 22 points and nine assists for the Bruins (12-2, 2-0 Pac-10), who have won four of their last five games at McArthur Court and eight of nine against the Ducks (6-8, 0-2) overall.

Injured hamstring still plaguing Roy
An MRI on Blazers star Brandon Roy's injured hamstring Saturday showed he did not suffer a tear, but the team still announced that the All-Star guard will miss the next seven to 10 days. The Blazers play four games in that stretch.

Hornets beat stunned Trail Blazers 92-77
Rudy Fernandez led Portland with 19 points. Travis Outlaw added 16, and LaMarcus Aldridge had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Blazers, who were held to their second-lowest points total of the season.

Defense takes centerstage in Oregon State's 3-0 bowl win
Justin Kahut kicked a 44-yard field goal late in the first half and No. 24 Oregon State beat No. 18 Pittsburgh 3-0 Wednesday in a defensive struggle at the Sun Bowl. It was the lowest-scoring Sun Bowl since a scoreless tie in 1940.

Ducks/Cowboys matchup to be a running battle
"It may be the best matchup in college football right now," Oregon coach Mike Bellotti said of Tuesday night's matchup between his No. 15 Ducks and the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys. Both teams are 9-3.

Len Casanova's granddaugher torn between UO, Oklahoma State
One fan in particular seemed to be torn between rooting for the Ducks and the Cowboys. Collette McClung, the granddaughter of Len Casanova, now lives in Oklahoma and was sporting both the green and yellow -- and the orange and black.
