Defense in the Desert Oregon takes its hard-earned #2 BCS ranking into a Thursday night clash with a desperate 4-6 Arizona team that must win out to gain bowl eligibility. This graph shows how the Ducks and Wildcats defended the aerial attacks of their five common opponents this fall.
Oregon has given up 266 yards per game, while Arizona has backpedaled for 246 ypg. With both run defenses comparable and credible, the two defensive coordinators will be depending on their pass defenses to make the difference in the game. Third downs will be very interesting in Tucson this Thursday.
